DANNY DEW
From an early age Danny wanted to become a performer, so in every spare moment he hung around the local theater in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He dreamed about becoming a song-and-dance man. He studied dance in St. Louis and with a partner played vaudeville as a comedy song-and-dance act. Having seen the many different acts in vaudeville, magic became Danny’s main interest.
Danny studied magic under Vernon, Frakson, Silent Mora, Tenkai and Emil Jarrow. Having acquired the ability to entertain people, Danny quickly developed a magic act that gained him fame in the magic and entertainment world.
Danny and his wife, Melba, (her specialty being sand painting) toured for many years, finally settling in Arizona in 1944. Danny continued to perform and was a mainstay of Ring 55 for many years and is one of the namesakes of the Ring. Melba passed away on September 29th, 2012.Edit
